THE MAKERS SERIES

Thoughtful imagery for artists, makers and creatives.

Part portrait session, part visual documentation of your creative world, The Makers sessions are designed to capture the connection between artist and practice.

These sessions unfold slowly and naturally, with space for experimentation, conversation and observation. I’m interested not only in what you make, but how you move through the process of making it. The small details. The atmosphere. The evidence of work and thought and time.

The final imagery is honest, considered and deeply personal. Less about performance, more about presence.

Images that capture both the maker and the making.

These sessions focus on capturing you within your creative world. Your hands at work. The textures, tools, materials and spaces that shape what you do. Quiet moments in between. The atmosphere of your practice as much as the final outcome.

Your Story

The Maker Series is a story-led experience for artists, makers and creative people.

These sessions go beyond a standard portrait, focusing not only on the person behind the work, but the creative process itself. Together, we document your workspace, materials, tools and the small in-between moments that shape your practice.

The result is a thoughtful collection of natural, honest imagery that reflects both you and the world you create around yourself.

  • Each Maker Session is tailored to you and your practice, but sessions may include:

    • Relaxed environmental portraits

    • Studio or workspace documentation

    • Hands-at-work and process imagery

    • Detail shots of materials, tools and textures

    • Natural and gently directed portraits

    • Film and digital imagery

    • Images suitable for websites, social media, grants, publications and press features

  • Maker Sessions are designed to feel relaxed, collaborative and unhurried. Before the session, we’ll chat about your practice, your space, the kind of imagery you’re drawn to and how you hope to use the photographs. Whether you work from a home studio, warehouse, garden, rehearsal room or shared creative space, the session is shaped around what feels most authentic to you.

You do not need to know how to pose or perform for the camera. My approach is observational and gently guided, allowing space for natural moments, movement and process to unfold organically.

  • The final images are created to be versatile across both personal and professional use. Many artists and creatives use their Maker Session imagery for websites, exhibition applications, press features, album artwork, social media, grant submissions, interviews and promotional material.

Beyond practical use, these sessions also become a meaningful document of a particular season of your creative life - capturing not only the finished work, but the atmosphere, tools, spaces and rhythms that shaped it.

The work matters. So does the person behind it.
