Earlier this year I was invited to join a troop of like minded, creative mummas to take part in a Traveling Dress project.
The idea behind this started in the US with a group of photographers equally fascinated in each others different points of view. They were interested to see how each of them would photograph the exact same dress and how their own creative style and voice would shape their images apart from each others.
It started with 1 dress and 7 photographers but since then, it has become a bit of a rite of passage with multitudes of photographers sharing their creative views on various dresses. Wind the clock forward to 2019 and our group of 8 each spent one week with this stunning grey linen sundress made by ‘Mack’s Mumma’, a queensland based dressmaker specialising in handmade children’s wear (see link below). The dress travelled over the Tasman Sea and back and needless to say each of our little girls loved wearing this detailed and billowing dress. Moreover, us mummas enjoyed this project so much we are all in for another round with a new dress soon, so watch this space!
I am excited to say our submission to the Traveling Dress Collective is now live and up on their website, where you can see each of our trio of images along with each of our stories. Details can be found below.
