This has got to be one of my favourite family sessions to date.
I can’t quite put my finger on why, but here are a few thoughts …
Possibly because of the countless phone calls between Mum and I in the lead up to our session! Between the back and forth phone tennis and the several pre-session chats we had it felt like we were old friends by the time we finally got to meet in person.
Possibly because they chose to have their session at home. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, in home sessions are my all time favourite. People feel comfortable at home, its the place where families are brought together and children in particular just get on and do their thing. In this family’s case their home is where their girls have grown up and one they just recently sold. This left me with the task of creating some final beautiful memories before they say their goodbyes and make themselves at home in their new abode.
Possibly because they were such a warm hearted and deeply generous family of four that it would have been difficult not to create connected meaningful images of them.
Whatever the reason, I guess its safe to say in home family sessions just make sense to me. I’ll stop with the wordsmithing and let the images speak for themselves!
